The governorship candidate of All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), Professor Charles Chukwuma Soludo has said that any candidate aspiring to govern Anambra state must be well educated to be able to continue from where his predecessors stopped.

While speaking at the inauguration of 4,200 members of the 2021 Governorship Election Campaign Council in Awka, Soludo said those parading First Leaving School Certificate and West African School Certificates as their qualifications are certainly unfit to aspire to lead the state.

He also chided one of the candidates whose campaign Council was made up of over 90 percent of people that are not from Anambra State warning that outsiders cannot decide for Anambra people who will govern them.

Soludo warned about those wishing to ‘take Anambra’ rather than win the election, saying that Anambra people will resist rigging of the November 6 election.

According to him, over 80 per cent population of voters in Anambra is APGA sympathisers and that there are no factions in the party contrary to insinuations from the social media which wanted to fractionalize the party.

Also speaking, former Senator who represented Anambra Central District Chief Victor Umeh warned that Anambra should not be turned to Kuwait by those inaugurating foreigners to their part’s campaign Council.

Umeh said that APGA has a strong scorecard to build on to win.

He said that APGA has won all battles it faced in the past 19 years and the November 6 election cannot be different.

National chairman of the party Chief Victor Ike Oye said APGA has already won the election because Hod brought Soludo to replace Governor Willie Obiano.

Oye said the party’s team is star-studded and Obiano’s evidence of performance unassailable.

Also speaking about the character of contestants in the election, the Director-General of the campaign Council who is also Secretary to the State Government Prof. Solo Chukwulobelu warned that candidates who were linked with causing havoc in the state in 2013 should not take the people for granted.

Likewise, the member representing Anambra East and Anambra West in the House of Representatives, Hon. Chinedu Obidigwe predicted that the party will win in all the wards and local government areas in the state.

The campaign Council was inaugurated by Governor Willie Obiano.
