POLICE OFFICERS PROTEST IN MAIDUGURI FOR NOT GETTING PAID FOR 6MONTHS

The Police officers that were deployed to Borno State, on special duty, came out earlier today, protesting over the issue of not getting paid for the past six months.

It was gathered that this police officers were deployed from different units across Nigeria to help in the fight against insurgency. The angry police officers were also shooting in the air, forcing motorists nearby to scamper to safety. .

An officer saying: “we can no longer tolerate this, for over six months now we have no allowances not any decent accommodation; we sleep on corridors of officers and sometimes in the open air; enough is enough”. .

However, the Commissioner of Police in Borno State, Damian Chukwu, said the police is aware of the situation. He explained that the unpaid allowances had to do with the delay in signing the 2018 budget.Why wouldn't they act corrupt or do what's not right like lending their guns out to robbers, thugs and Co, just to feed their family, they survived for six good months coming and going to work,morning and night shift then feeding themselves and their numerous member of the family on BRIBES!
