The All Progressives Congress (APC) lawmaker was apprehended by the police on Wednesday afternoon at the National Assembly Complex in Abuja, in connection with the invasion of the Senate House of Assembly by some thugs who eventually made away with the mace.
The Red Chamber has since condemned the incident and accused Senator Omo-Agege of leading the hoodlums to plenary to seize its symbol of authority.
The National Assembly has also given the Inspector General of Police, Ibrahim Idris and Director General of the Department of State Security, Lawal Daura, 24 hours to recover the stolen Mace.
