The bandit was killed during an exchange of fire with security operatives near Kasarami village on the Kaduna-Abuja highway.
According to a local source, the incident occurred in the early morning hours of Thursday.
During the shootout, a youth leader said two civilians were killed while a security vehicle was destroyed by the bandits.
48 hours earlier, the Emir of Bungudu in Zamfara had been abducted.
“A bandit was killed by security forces during the attack,” he said.
A driver and his conductor were also killed in the accident.”
ASP Jalige Mohammed, the State Police Command Public Relations Officer, confirmed the incident.
The security forces foiled the attack and neutralized a bandit, but two travellers died.
