Cultist Arrested Inside Commercial Taxi With two Pistols, Bullets, Phones,25 SIM Cards And other Gadgets

 A young man said to be a member of a dreaded cult group has been arrested by police operatives inside a commercial vehicle and during his arrest, two pistols, two bullets, 25 SIM cards, phones, among others, were recovered from him, the Delta State Police Command announced on Sunday, August 8.

The cultist, whose name was given as Samuel Ikpi, aged 28 years, was said to have been arrested by the Safer Highway Patrol team stationed along Agbor-Alifikede boundary between Delta and Edo states inside a commercial vehicle while they were carrying out stop-and-search duties on the road.

It was gathered that the team flagged down the vehicle the man was in and when a search was conducted on the passengers, he was said to have been found with two locally-made pistols, two bullets, various types of Android and other phones, 25 SIM cards, among others, in his bag.

According to a statement by the state police command through its acting Public Relations Officer, Bright Edafe, on the Facebook wall of the command, during interrogation at the police station, it was discovered that he is a member of a cult group known as Aro Barger Confraternity which has been terrorising residents of Agbor and its environs.

The statement added that more investigation about the man’s activities are ongoing after which he will be prosecuted in the court of law.

According to the statement: “On Saturday, 7/8/2021 at about 9:30 a.m., Safer Highway Patrol Team stationed along Agbor-Alifikede boundary between Delta and Edo states, while conducting stop-and-search duties, intercepted a commercial vehicle.

“During the search on the passengers inside the vehicle, the team arrested one Samuel Ikpi, aged 28 years after discovering two locally-made pistols and two bullets from him.

“Other items recovered from him included Android and other phones, powerbank, 25 SIM cards of different networks, laptop, among others.

“Preliminary investigations revealed that the man is a member of Aro Barger Confraternity. More investigations are ongoing after which he will be prosecuted in a court of law.”
