As the trial of Nnamdi Kanu, leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra begins on Monday (tomorrow), the Federal Government has deployed a team of masked armed operatives of the Department of State Services (DSS) to the premises of the Federal High Court, Maitama in Abuja.

Kanu is standing trial before the Justice Binta Nyako Federal High Court on nine counts bordering on terrorism, treasonable felony among others.

According toWuzupNigeria, questions have been raised over the manner in which the IPOB leader was rearrested when he jumped bail in 2017 and fled the country for the United Kingdom after soldiers stormed his parents’ residence at Afaraukwu, Abia State.

Although the Minister for Justice and Attorney General of the Federation, Abubakar Malami, said hewas rearrested through the collaborative efforts of Nigerian intelligence and security services, the Kenyan government denied having anything to do with the arrest.

But the leader of the proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra, Nnamdi Kanu, has revealed that he was abducted in Kenya by some agents who were hired by the Nigerian Government.

With the trial of the IPOB leader scheduled for Monday, Daily Post reported that a detachment of hooded armed officers was seen stationed at the entrance of the Federal High Court with motorbikes and vehicles preventing human and vehicular movements into the area.
