SUSPECTS WHO MARKET DRUGS TO BANDITS IN NIGER STATE ARRESTED

The suspects identified as Martins Okwor Ejiofor and Bala Mohammed were arrested with 24.450kg of assorted substances meant to be delivered to bandits.

Security operatives in Niger state have apprehended two men who reportedly supply drugs to bandits in the state.

The suspects identified as Martins Okwor Ejiofor and Bala Mohammed were arrested with 24.450kg of assorted substances meant to be delivered to bandits in neighboring forests in Gwada, Shiroro Local Government of Niger State.

Gwada is said to be one of the two functional markets bordering the forest where bandits and kidnappers hibernate in Niger State.

The NDLEA spokesman, Femi Babafemi in a press statement explained that, drugs seized from the suspects include Codeine – 7.1kg, Diazepam – 6.4kg and Exol 5 – 10.95kg by the Kwara State NDLEA Command’s Highway Patrol Team along Okolowo – Jebba Highway.

Babafemi said the patrol team intercepted the consignment in a Hiace bus, with registration number: Niger 14 B.40NG, belonging to Niger State Transport Authority on Saturday 5th June, 2021.

While Martins Ejiofor had travelled to Lagos with the second suspect to procure the drugs and deliver to dealers in Gwada.
