Gunmen kill three soldiers in Plateau, lawmaker detained
The military authorities, which also raised the alarm that “the proliferation of arms in Plateau is out of magnitude,” said it had “locked down the Barkin Ladi LGA completely” to ensure that no human being created further havoc in the area.
The situation, however worsened following the arrest and detention of the Chairman, Committee on Public Accounts and Petitions and member representing the Barkin Ladi Constituency in the Plateau State House of Assembly, Peter Gyendeng, for eight hours by the military.
Gyendeng, in an interview with SUNDAY PUNCH, said he was tricked by soldiers only to be arrested and detained for eight hours.
According to him, he was briefed that three soldiers, who reportedly died in Barkin Ladi were killed by Fulani herdsmen.
