Nigerian Army Uncovers Boko Haram Link Use To Recruit New Members On Social Media.
Usman said that the faction of the Boko Haram Group were recruiting new members from social media like Facebook, instagram, Twitter and YouTube and the have 2,000 followers.
He added that they got to know this while interrogating a highly placed Boko-Haram Commander identified as Malu-Mamman Barde, who was apprehended at 40km South of Rann area in Kala-Balge local government area of Bruno State.
Through the suspect mobile phone, we found several videos soliciting funds for the group. We also found videos where Barde was preaching Jihad and the Ideology of the group.
Most of Barde’s pictures were that of Abu-Mosad Albarnawi and other Boko Haram Fighters posing with anti-air craft guns, rocket and Boko Haram Flag.
