As fifth son in line to the throne, Harry must follow due process by obtaining formal permission from the monarch (a.k.a. his grandmother) to marry under the Succession to the Crown Act. On thursday via a letter from Buckingham Palace. Though the letter is formal, the Queen gave her full approval for the coup,e to carry on.
The letter says,
"My Lords, I declare My Consent to a Contract of Matrimony between My Most Dearly Beloved Grandson Prince Henry Charles Albert David of Wales and Rachel Meghan Markle, which Consent I am causing to be signified under the Great Seal and to be entered in the Books of the Privy Council.”
